What Karmic Astrology Is
Karma is nothing new. We just call it by different names depending on our lens: Eastern philosophy speaks of reincarnation and the evolution of the soul, the Christian Church speaks of ancestral sins weighing on future generations, and science speaks of DNA encoding the traumas and behaviors of the entire species.
Regardless of the perspective, the mechanism is identical: cause and effect. What you thought, said, or did — or what those before you did — leaves a footprint that shapes your current reality.
Karmic astrology takes this idea and translates it onto your birth chart. A planet in detriment or fall points to an energy you misused or overexpressed, affecting others. A challenging aspect is a lesson left unfinished, and a retrograde planet indicates a pattern you’ve repeated so many times that fixing it has now become urgent.
Even if some charts seem heavier than others, yours is exactly what you need for your current level of growth. Its purpose isn't to make you feel guilty — guilt is just a low-frequency energy that keeps you stuck — but to help you understand why your life looks the way it does. It helps you spot the traps you fall into and change the rules of the game, this time completely consciously.
Life will push you to evolve whether you want to or not. The difference is that when you understand the lesson, the process becomes faster and a lot less painful. And the real stakes lie in what you do from here on out: from a simple thought or look, to your words and actions, everything you put out there right now becomes your future.
What the Report Contains
The karmic big picture The chart identifies which types of karma are active, based on tense aspects and the zodiacal modalities involved. There are three main types:
- karma of aggression — aggression toward others, abuse of the material plane, racism, tyrannical authority (intolerance, harshness, coldness, etc.),
- karma of possessive attachment (fixed signs — possessiveness toward people or possessions, resistance to change, rigidity),
- karma of ignorance (mutable signs — deficient communication, misuse of knowledge, avoidance of commitment, abuse of trust, etc.). Each type has both roots in previous existences and typical manifestations in the present. The report shows you which behaviors you tend to repeat and the path to their sublimation.
The Lunar Nodes — direction of evolution The South Node is the comfort zone — everything you know how to do well, perhaps too well, but also the point of karmic concentration. The North Node is the direction your entire chart pushes you toward, exactly where it feels most unfamiliar or uncomfortable. The analysis also includes the karmic regents: the planets that govern each node and show how karma enters your life and where the transformed energy is distributed.
Saturn — the main karmic lesson Saturn is the main karmic lesson of this lifetime. It acts simultaneously on two planes: externally, through obstacles, frustrations, and repeated blocks exactly in the sector of life indicated by the house; internally, through specific fears, complexes, and inhibitions that make it difficult to access a certain quality of being. The external blocks and the internal fears are not separate — they are faces of the same lesson. The report describes the type of lesson (given by Saturn's sign), the sector of life where it unfolds (the house), and, where tense aspects exist, what needs to be disinhibited — whether at the level of vital energy (Saturn–Mars), feelings (Saturn–Venus), communication (Saturn–Mercury), emotions and family bonds (Saturn–Moon), or self-expression (Saturn–Sun).
Planets — dignities, aspects, retrogrades Planets in signs show the point from which we resume the path of evolution in this life. A planet in domicile or exaltation indicates an energy positively used in past lives — the individual begins this life with that quality already cultivated. A planet in exile or fall shows excesses, abuses, or imbalances carried from the past — the tendency to repeat the same patterns is present now as well. Harmonious aspects represent talents and already integrated lessons; tense aspects represent unfinished lessons, inner or outer conflicts that keep returning.
Retrograde planets deserve special attention: they signal lessons on repeat, energies channeled inward, self-generated fears and blocks.
Lilith — shadow and blocked potential Lilith in a chart shows the shadow zone of your personality: repressed desires, deep fears, shame, revolt, vices, excesses, frustrations. Lilith also hides blocked potential and inhibitions! Through its position in sign, house, and aspects, Lilith shows where the blocks come from and what the life lessons are. If the Lunar Nodes show the direction of evolution, Lilith shows what can no longer be ignored along the way.
Synthesis An overview of the identified lessons and the direction of evolution — what you came equipped with, what remains to be integrated, and where the greatest growth potential lies in your chart.
